Review of the movie Hobbit: Heathland of Smauga

From continuation of the film trilogy about a campaign of the brave hobbit Bilbo Baggins to the Lonely Mountain nobody waited for something supernatural and epic. Everything was predictable, any global battles and magnificent subject turns it was not supposed, our travelers simply had to go, whenever possible, avoiding troubles. However even those small expectations which remained with admirers Tolkien and Jackson did not come true.

Peter Jackson deserved huge respect from Tolkien's fans and the indulgence for many years ahead for the screen version of "Lord of the Rings". The trilogy about Fellowship of the Ring really is an excellent example of that properly to picturize books. That you will not tell about "Hobbit". And business here at all not that try to stretch the story on three movies for three hours, and how it becomes.

In the movie Hobbit: A heathland of Smauga founders it intends removed the most high and atmospheric points from the book, having replaced them with an action and unclear innovations. So, Beorna in the book is allocated for visit by gnomes of the house a whole chapter with excellent dialogues, and in the movie on this event only some minutes are taken away. But our gnomes together with the retouched Legolas constantly battle and somewhere run. Constantly show us improbable fighting scenes where heroes show dexterity miracles. At the same time, for dialogues it is found a minimum of screen time because of what there is an impression that gnomes and other characters are necessary only for "tick".

The separate word is deserved by the director's attitude towards the Hobbit. In the second part of the trilogy, even less time, than in the first is devoted to Bilbo. As a result, the fighter about Thorin Oakenshield's campaign, his friends of gnomes and … the hobbit turns out. Also addition of a love triangle Tauriel-Legolas-Kily looks senseless. Why this subject course absolutely not clearly for two reasons was necessary: first, it was not and could not be in the primary source (elves cannot consider gnomes attractive in any way), secondly, in the movie it does not influence a plot in any way and does not open to us the additional parties of characters.

Hobbit: The heathland of Smauga definitely will be pleasant to those who wants to look at qualitatively put fighting scenes (let and a little ridiculous from the point of view of physics), special effects in 3D, and also at fantastic landscapes. The same for whom the plot and a semantic component is on the first place, can recommend the movie for viewing only in the fact-finding purposes – to be aware of events.
