"Hungry games" — it is the first novel of the trilogy of the same name of the American writer Susan Collins. Two others are called "And the flame" and "Soyka-peresmeshnitsa" will flash. They were published with a difference in a year from 2008 to 2010 and at once became best-sellers. And two years later in 2012 there was a long-awaited movie put according to the first novel, and which became not less popular, than the book. That caused surge in interest in work among those who did not read the book yet, but was interested in the movie and was eager for continuation. According to Susan Collins the novel was inspired by the Ancient Greek myth about the Minotaur in whom Athenians undertook to send periodically to certain death fourteen young people (equally guys and girls). However, once the hero Theseus went with them and relieved the homeland of a heavy duty, having killed the Minotaur. This history was changed by Susan with addition in a plot of modern mad popularity of reality show and with use of that knowledge which she got from the father military. The compelling fantastic novel with the fighter's elements turned out. Action in the novel "Hungry Games" of Susan Collins happens in the world which developed after an unknown global catastrophe. From democracy did not remain also a trace. The power in the state entirely is in hands rich which cruelly operate the poor population of distriktov-areas. One of them somehow rose, but revolt was cruelly suppressed, distrikt is disbanded and since then the whole world is lucky enough to contemplate tournament "Hungry games for which everyone distrikt is obliged to nominate two young people by draw. And in it danger to the developed status quo is concealed. After all if the sixteen-year-old little girl could win, and distrikt and all country especially will be able. There is in the novel also a romantic plot at which there are a child-hood friend of the girl Gayle and her partner in the weapon of Pitas. Screen versions of the novel Katniss's role was played by Jenifer Lawrence, Gaila — Liam Hemsworth, and Pete — Josh Hutcherson.
