Cassandra Claire "City of bones"

Before beginning work on the cycle "Death Tools", Cassandra Claire found a certain popularity in circles of fans of the saga about Harry Potter, having written "Draco's Trilogy" — a series of fanfik based on Joanne Rowling's books in which as the main character Draco Malfoy acted.

Having got thus literary experience, in 2004 Cassandra Claire began work on the debut novel "City of Bones". The novel was published in March, 2007 in the USA. In April the book "City of Bones" took the eighth place in the list of best-sellers "New York Times". On July 2, 2007 there was the British edition. Later the book was translated into some languages, including German, Italian, French, Spanish and Russian.

The idea of the novel came to Cassandra when they with the friend visited a tattoo salon. The intertwining patterns of tattoos reminded Clare ancient runes. And then she decided to write the book about the world in which there is a confidential society of hunters on demons, whose magic is based on system of the tattooed runes. Claire wanted to write the book uniting elements of a traditional and city fantasy.

The main character of the novel "City of Bones" — the fifteen-year-old schoolgirl from Brooklyn Kleri Frey. Once she becomes the witness to strange murder which is committed by the mysterious people covered with tattoos. After murder the corpse of the victim evaporates! From this point Kleri's life changes forever.

The heroine learns that beings whom we got used to consider as heroes of myths, fairy tales and legends — werewolves, vampires, demons side by side live in our world with people and other to indulge which in most cases concerns people very unfriendly. And only who can protect people from evil spirits — it is Twilight Hunters, mortal soldiers, in whose veins blood of angels flows.

Clare it is possible to slip to the world of Twilight Hunters hidden from simple people by means of magic paternosters. She should learn a lot of new about herself and the people surrounding it, to reveal a set of secrets, to get new friends (and — alas — to sew enemies) and to rescue the mother from the demon who kidnapped her.

As we already spoke, "The city of bones" — the first book from the cycle "Death Tools" which also includes novels "City of Ashes", "City of Glass", "City of Fallen Angels" and "City of the Lost Souls". The release of the sixth novel of a cycle, "The city of heavenly fire" is planned for May, 2014.

Also the writer works on the trilogy "Infernal Mechanisms" in which the background of "Death tools" is stated (action happens in the same Universe, but during the Victorian era), and plans to continue the history begun in the cycle "Death Tools", the trilogy "Dark Artefacts".

The novel "City of Bones" will be picturized. Norwegian Harold Tsvart became the director of the project, Kleri Frey will play a role Lily Collins. Shooting will happen from May to November, 2012 in Toronto, and there will be a screen version in August, 2013.
