Sleeplessness: how to fight?
| It is well-known that the sound, healthy sleep is a guarantee of cheerfulness and good health for all day. But how to be if in fruitless attempts to fall asleep you carry out the whole nights and only sleeping pill helps? |
The dream is necessary for the person for restoration of forces. During a dream there are regeneration processes, muscles and a backbone relax, the nervous system has a rest. "Start" the dream mechanism in an organism special hormones: melatonin, serotonin and tryptophane. At insufficient concentration the dream "does not go to blood of these hormones".
Sleeplessness (insomniya) is the frustration of a dream accompanied with difficulties with falling asleep, frequent night awakenings and too early awakenings without need. The dream superficial, leaves feeling of fatigue and a breakdown.
There are three types of sleeplessness:
The passing sleeplessness develops not often. It can be provoked by psychological and physical activities, violation of habitual tenor of life. Such type of sleeplessness can appear owing to overfatigue, a disease, abuses of alcohol and caffeine.
Short-term sleeplessness can last from one to five nights for 3 weeks. Strong emotional experiences (loss of work, relatives), expectation of a significant event (a wedding, divorce, the child's birth), chronic pains cause developing of short-term sleeplessness.
Sleeplessness is considered chronic if it lasts more than three nights in a row. Chronic sleeplessness can be caused by hormonal violations, emotional frustration, long reception of some medicines.
Sleeplessness most of all elderly people and also very often women of all age have. At first sight sleeplessness can seem harmless, but the lack of a dream can cause serious violations in an organism: increased fatigue during the day, drowsiness, irritability, unimportant health, decrease in concentration of attention.
Therefore it is necessary to struggle with sleeplessness. The doctor on the basis of clinical analyses, collecting the anamnesis, definition of an individual hronobiologichesky stereotype ("owl", "lark") has to diagnose chronic sleeplessness. After the diagnosis is made, the doctor will appoint adequate treatment.
Remember! It is necessary to accept somnolent preparations, especially for a long time, only according to the recommendation of the doctor!
In a case with the short-term and passing sleeplessness it is possible to adjust the normal mode of a dream independently. For this purpose it is necessary to define the reason causing a sleep disorder first of all.
Often the person cannot fall asleep because of deep personal experiences, a stress. The situation, improper for a dream, indoors, the loud irritating sounds, bright light is too prevents to fall asleep.
Also various stimulating substances, such as caffeine, theobromine provoke sleeplessness. Nicotine also possesses the stimulating properties therefore for the night it is not recommended to smoke.
